Ford's solo metal career proved successful following the split of the band. She began taking voice lessons shortly after releasing her debut album , 'Dancin' On the Edge'. Ford did not achieve anything with either of them, so she walked away from the scene for an entire decade. In 1988, she returned to the limelight with her smash album "Lita". It was a big hit for both the song "Kiss Me Deadly," and the ballad , 'Close My Eyes forever. The problem was that she only was a brief star and then disappeared from the music scene for some time. In 1995, she released 'Black and a few years following, "Wicked wonderland" came out, and she was back. She released her latest album in 2016, titled 'Time Capsule. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
