
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on July 10, 1980, is an American actress, performer an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. Simpson who was just 17 years old at the time, began her career in the choirs of churches. She was signed to Columbia Records in 1997. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, sold 2 million copies in the United States. The single "I I Want To Love You Forever" was a commercial hit. Simpson's sophomore studio album, Irresistible, was a maturer release. Its title track became Simpson's second highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 entry. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed the album gold. In This Skin (2003), Simpson's third studio album, sold three million copies in the United States. In the beginning of her professional career, Simpson became known for her relationship with and later marriage to Nick Lachey, with whom she appeared on the MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 and 2005. Simpson made her movie debut on The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004). The soundtrack of the film also included an original song called "These Boots Are Made For walking". She released her fifth album, A Public Affair, in 2006 and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the month. Simpson became a country singer after the release her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008). Alongside her musical pursuits, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, which was a fashion-focused line that has 34 categories of merchandise. To date, the brand has generated over $1 billion in revenue and is the most successful celebrity licensing brand in history. In 2010, she starred in the reality TV series The Price of Beauty. She also acted as a judge for fashions during Fashion Star's two seasons in 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson and has three children.
